Russian Expo Arms is the international exhibition of arms, military equipment and ammunition that is regularly held in Nizhny Tagil, Russia since 1999.

The 10th Russia Arms Expo (RAE) has kicked off in the Urals, with Russia demonstrating its latest military equipment in action. The annual exhibition will last until September 12 and feature over 150 companies and representatives from 65 countries.
RAE 2015, which is taking place in Nizhny Tagil, is the most ambitious of all the RAE exhibitions in terms of demonstrating the latest defense innovations, with 160 exhibitors participating, according to the organizers. A record 23 delegations and representatives from 65 countries are expected to attend the event.

Russia is showcasing its latest military hardware and technology, including state-of the art T-14 and T-15 tanks based on the Armata Universal Combat Platform, which will be seen in action on the expo’s military range.
The event also features the T-15’s Koalitsia-SV self-propelled gun – a 152-mm artillery system with a range of up to 70 kilometers, which is designed to destroy tactical nuclear weapons, among other targets.

At Wednesday’s opening, the Russian Falcons aerobatic team performed a half-hour program, which included air combat maneuvering by SU-27 (called Flanker-B by NATO) and SU-30SM (another version of the Flanker-B) multirole fighters.
Two Russian engineering and software companies, RTI Systems and Tiber, announced that they would be collaborating on a project scheduled for late 2017 to create a 1.5-ton heavy drone to monitor the Arctic shelf. The drone will be capable of flying 35 hours non-stop for a distance of up to 4,000 kilometers.

The Deputy Head of Russia’s Defense Ministry, Yury Borisov, told reporters on Wednesday that he considers the exhibition a success. He added that the Ministry is satisfied with how the import substitution program to supply components for armored vehicles was progressing.

Kazakh Military Demonstrates Remote Firing System at Russian Arms Expo
Representatives of the Kazakh military-industrial complex took part in the Sept. 9-12 10th Russia Arms Expo 2015, an international arms, military equipment and ammunition exhibition in Nizhny Tagil, reported the Kazakh Ministry of Defence press service.
More than 400 exhibitors and representatives of military authorities, defence ministers and chiefs of general staffs from more than 50 countries participated.

Dmitry Medvedev visited RAE 2015
September 10, prime-minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev visited X International Arms Exhibition, Russia Arms Expo in Nizhniy Tagil.
Head of Russian Government inspected defense industry products of Russian and international producers, met with engineers and designers of arms and military hardware.
Dmitry Medvedev: RAE exhibition is one of the most important grounds which help to promote Russian military industry products on internal and external markets. This is the generator of very serious contracts, which help Russia to be ranked highly on the arms market. Russia today is ranked second in the world in arms export, and the demonstration of our might on such exhibitions is very important.
Combat capabilities of military, engineering and automobile vehicles as well as assault aviation were demonstrated to the Head of the Government.

One of the key features of RAE 2015 is a rich business program and unique demonstrations held in the form of squad-tactical combat. Abundant demonstrations and massive exposition are provided by virtue of the unique testing ground, which allow demonstration of a full spectrum of combat and performance characteristics of arms and military vehicles.
Among RAE-2015 guests are Deputy Head of Russian Government Dmitry Rogozin, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in Ural Federal District Igor Kholmanskih, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, and heads of defense industry enterprises.
